Comments now enabled on the blog - Updated

Initial Hopes

Finally, after a long time, I’ve managed to make Remark42 comments work. Now that I have a solid holiday, I spent some time testing out a Remark42 server safely, so that it wouldn’t mess up the blog right away. Though it will take some tweaking still, it should allow for signing in via a variety of methods, and letting people post comments. Do note that I’m still trying to get e-mail verification to work. I’m not sure why it says “forbidden” when you try it, but hopefully I’ll solve that in the time to come. For now, I’m just super jazzed that comments will be a thing on this blog!

Well, turns out I have most of it working. The comment thingy appears, the login starts, and you can click an authorization button. And then, for some reason, you get a 404 not found trying to log in. So, that’ll take more investigating.

Okay, so e-mail verification is working. I don’t know yet if notifications are working, but it’s a start!

And now the other logins are fixed as well! I’m so happy that I just stumbled onto the solution. Funnily enough, it was looking at the avatar on my comment below that tipped me off. I had to configure the authorization callback URL to link to the correct port! So, now all logins should work normally.
