RPGaDay 2025 21: Unexpected
For today’s entry, I want to pay an homage to Fiona Maeve Geist’s entry on pp. 59–60 of Knock! Issue 1. In that entry, Fiona has a d100 table of “It Has Something In Its Pockets!”, for random goblin items. Some are useful, most are strange, a few are downright outlandish. I’m not quite as creative as to make a d100 table, but I wanted to do a small d10 of weird things that a goblin will have in its pockets.
| d10 | Item |
|---|---|
| 1 | A small jar labelled “Pickled Farts”. Absolutely not a good idea to open it. |
| 2 | A manifesto on the founding of a goblin constitution and governing body. |
| 3 | A curedly drawn treasure map. It kind of looks like a sick giraffe? Who knows, it might be real. |
| 4 | A heavily annotated draft of a musical about a small-town goblin wanting to make it big. |
| 5 | A small statue of a goblin. It has a different expression on its face every time you look away. |
| 6 | The Sponge of Growing. It expands slightly when exposed to water. You know, like a regular sponge. |
| 7 | A rat-sized crown, with the inscription “All Hail King Squeaky III” on the inside. |
| 8 | A stack of twelve papers, each saying “Dem elves did it.” |
| 9 | A single sock, suspiciously like that one sock that you lost years ago. |
| 10 | A little stuffed ogre toy that squeaks when you squeeze it. |
Look forward to more RPGaDAY posts throughout the month!
